Sudan: Fruit Vendor Dies After Tear Gas Fired at Protesters
A Sudanese fruit vendor died in Khartoum Sunday from inhaling tear gas fired at protesters.
Medics and the vendor's family said the 62-year-old resident of Bahari, a northern suburb of the Sudanese capital, died in the hospital after choking on tear gas. The tear gas was fired at scores of protesters quickly after they took to the streets Sunday.

UN in Syria and SARC deliver humanitarian assistance to 40,000 people in Rukban
The United Nations and the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) are carrying out their largest ever humanitarian convoy to provide life-saving humanitarian assistance to more than 40,000 displaced people at the remote Rukban ‘makeshift’ settlement in south-eastern Syria, on the border with Jordan. The convoy on Febuary 6 arrived, and the operation is expected to last approximately one week.

Angelina Jolie, the Special Envoy for UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, is visiting Bangladesh this week. Bangladesh has been heavily affected by the influx of more than 730,000 Rohingya refugees from Myanmar since August 2017 and now hosts nearly a million refugees. The majority of refugees – more than 620,000 people – live in just one area: Kutupalong, the largest refugee settlement anywhere in the world today.
