Concerns about clashes between Palestinian protesters and Israeli settlers and army
During his fact-finding visit to the Palestinian Territories from 6 to 7 October, Jordi Xuclà (Spain, ALDE), rapporteur on the “Evaluation of the Partnership for Democracy with the Palestinian National Council” expressed concern about clashes between Palestinian protesters and Israeli settlers and army, further to the events in and around the Al Aqsa mosque in the Old City of Jerusalem and praised President Abbas for his firm stand against the escalation of violence. He also welcomed the excellent participation of the Palestinian partner for democracy delegation in the work of the Assembly.
