Opening of the 9th Session of Intangible Cultural Heritage Committee

The ninth session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, chaired by José Manuel Rodríguez Cuadros (Peru), opened in Paris in the presence of 950 participants. The Committee will remain in session until 28 November at UNESCO’s Headquarters (Room I).

‘Merchants of Doubt’ shows how public opinion is manipulated

The LA Times gives a positive review of Participant’s ‘Merchants of Doubt’ and calls the documentary “enthralling” and “fascinating,” as it highlights the perils of global warming, and the ways public opinion is manipulated.

Don’t underestimate Robert Kenner’s “Merchants of Doubt.” It may sound like a standard-issue advocacy documentary concerned, as so many are, with the perils of global warming, but it’s a lot more than that.

1000 Years of Arabic Optics to be a Focus of the International Year of Light in 2015
