Brazil's President Lula Condemns Israel's Gaza Airstrikes, Calls for International Outcry
Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva has condemned Israel's recent airstrikes on the Gaza Strip, calling on the international community to no longer remain silent in the face of this unending slaughter.
The Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip's Ministry of Health reported that Israel's attack on Al-Mawasi on the 13th resulted in at least 92 deaths and 300 injuries. This area had been designated by Israel as a "safe zone" along the Mediterranean coast. The Gaza Civil Defense indicated that Israel also struck a makeshift mosque in the Shati refugee camp in northern Gaza, killing 20 people. Additionally, a school providing refuge for the displaced was attacked, resulting in 15 deaths on the same day.
A statement from the Brazilian presidency noted that the recent bombings in the Gaza Strip have caused the deaths of hundreds of innocent people, which is unacceptable. Even more shocking is the continued collective punishment of the Palestinian people. Since last year, these relentless attacks have resulted in tens of thousands of deaths, with many people living in designated humanitarian zones, which should have been protected, also falling victim.
The Brazilian presidency's statement urged the political leaders of the democratic world to no longer remain silent in the face of Israel's endless slaughter.
