British Man Arrested for Driving into Buckingham Palace Gates
UK authorities announced on the 11th that police have arrested a man who drove into the gates of Buckingham Palace late at night on the 9th, and are investigating the man's motive for the crime.
London police confirmed that the man involved drove into the gates of Buckingham Palace at 2:33 am on the 9th, suspected of criminal damage, and was taken to the hospital for a physical examination. There were no casualties reported in the case. A Buckingham Palace spokesperson issued a statement saying that there were no members of the royal family in the palace at the time, and the damaged gate has been repaired.
The Metropolitan Police pointed out that after evaluation, he was detained under the Mental Health Act, but he has been released on bail, and the investigation is ongoing. This incident has not been treated as a terrorism-related event.
