Two major Palestinian factions gather in Moscow for talks, attempting to cooperate in forming a new government.

The two major opposing forces in Palestine realized that in order to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza and recovery after the war, both sides must cooperate. The Russian state-owned media RIA reported on the 28th that representatives of Hamas and Fatah will meet in Moscow on the 29th to discuss how to form a coalition government and rebuild the Gaza area.

Maria Vladimirovna Zakharova, the spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry, stated that Russian diplomats asked Hamas to immediately release all foreign hostages during the meeting with the Hamas delegation, and discussed the issue of withdrawing from Gaza. Moussa Abu Marzouk, the chief deputy chairman of the Hamas Political Bureau and the leader of the 'Foreign Ministry', confirmed that he is looking for people on the Russian list and is preparing to release them all. Zakharova also mentioned that Mahmoud Abbas, the chairman of the Palestinian Authority, will personally go to Russia to meet with Vladimir Putin. Interestingly, the Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister is also visiting Moscow at this time, and all the key figures in the Middle East are gathering in Russia, which has attracted attention.

Before the talks, on the 26th, the Prime Minister of the Palestinian Authority, Shtayyeh, had already submitted his cabinet's resignation to Abbas, which is seen as paving the way for the two sides to form a coalition government. The Guardian also reported on the 27th that Egypt and Qatar, who are committed to mediating the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, also support the establishment of a new Palestinian government.
