According to a report by North Korean official media outlet “Chosun Central News Agency” on January 31, North Korea has recently conducted frequent missile tests. On January 30, the North Korean People’s Army conducted a test launch of the “Arrow-2” cruise missile in the western waters of the Korean Peninsula.

South Korean “Hankyoreh” quoted the “Chosun Central News Agency” report as saying that North Korea’s test this time aimed to test the rapid counterattack and strategic strike capabilities of the People’s Army, but did not have a negative impact on the security of neighboring countries. The report also mentioned the appearance characteristics of the “Arrow-2” missile, pointing out that North Korea seems to have not clearly distinguished between “Arrow-1” and “Arrow-2”, but has continued to upgrade and improve these two missiles to enhance overall performance.

According to “Hankyoreh”, “Arrow-2” is a long-range cruise missile recently developed by North Korea, with a range of about 1800 to 2000 kilometers. It has been tested on January 25, 2022, and in February and March of last year. North Korea claims that these two missiles can carry tactical nuclear warheads.
