Japan's Liberal Democratic Party Suspected of Illegally Receiving Kickbacks
Japan Yomiuri News (Yomiuri) on the 9th cited reliable sources, the ruling party Liberal Democratic Party, the first major faction of the Seiwa Policy Research Association (Abe faction), involved in part of the party fund-raising dinner income for personal use, the storm has endangered the Prime Minister Fumio Kishida's government, the Tokyo District Public Prosecutor's Office Special Investigations Department, and so on, is now investigating the matter.
Cabinet Secretary Hirokazu Matsuno and other prominent members of the party are reportedly accused of receiving more than 100 million yen in political donations privately over the past five years and failing to include them in their reports of political fund receipts and expenditures.
Hirokazu Matsuno himself said at a press conference the same day that he would not respond to the allegations against him.
