North Korea's recent launch of a military surveillance satellite has aroused concern from the outside world, and South Korea also successfully launched its first military spy satellite on Friday at the Vandenberg Space Force Base in California, U.S.A. The satellite will be used in the future to monitor and detect North Korea's military activities.

According to foreign media reports, South Korea also launched its first military spy satellite on Friday, from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California, USA, aboard Elon Musk's SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket. This satellite is South Korea's first domestic spy satellite. It is a low-orbit satellite equipped with electro-optical and infrared equipment, which has successfully communicated with foreign and domestic ground stations, and is expected to start carrying out surveillance and detection tasks on North Korea in the first half of next year after the system is tested. South Korea also plans to launch four more spy satellites by the end of 2025, with the hope that the surveillance satellites can serve as the eyes of the damage chain system.

Because of North Korea's long-term nuclear and missile threat, South Korea developed a "kill chain" system more than 10 years ago to target North Korean missiles and jets and destroy North Korean missiles and nuclear facilities in the event that North Korea was found to be in any imminent danger.
