Santa Clara, a hub for high-tech industries, is recently abuzz with cultural vibes. On October 8th, the Tai Ji Men Qigong Academy in Santa Clara opened with a grand celebration. The festivities kicked off at 10 am with a group of spirited children, bearing colorful balloons, enthusiastically welcoming the guests on the red carpet. The auspicious lions were also there to bless the guests, creating a lively and festive atmosphere. The program commenced with the majestic Tai Ji Men drummers taking the stage with a grand traditional ceremony. The joyful ambiance resembled the festive spirit of the New Year.

Young and dynamic Tai Ji Men apprentices greeted the distinguished guests with grand ancient rituals and showcased cultural performances of the highest caliber, adding an exquisite touch to the event.

Dr. Hong, Tao-Tze extended special invitations to a distinguished roster of guests who took part in the historic ribbon-cutting ceremony. These notable figures include Teburoro Tito, the Former President of Kiribati and Ambassador to the UN; Pakalitha Bethuel Mosisili, the fourth Prime Minister of Lesotho (from May 1998 to June 2012); Abdessattar Ben Moussa, the 2015 Nobel Peace Prize Laureate; Shishir Srivastava, Head of International Relations at CMS, Lucknow, India; Mayor Lisa Gillmor and Vice Mayor Kevin Park of Santa Clara; Mayor Hung Wei of Cupertino; Mayor Carmen Montano of Milpitas; Mayor Lydia Kou, Vice Mayor Greer Stone, former Mayor and current councilmember Patrick Burt of Palo Alto.

During the event, Dr. Hong, Tao-Tze, presented Santa Clara Mayor Lisa Gillmor the “Key to the Heart,” signifying that conscience holds the key to a brighter future for the world.

Other honored guests include State Senator Dave Cortese’s representative Phuong Nguyen, State Senator Aisha Wahab’s representative Martha Kreeger, Assemblymember Alex Lee’s representative Jo Nguyen, Santa Clara Councilmember Kathy Watanabe, former Cupertino Vice Mayor/Councilmember Liang Chao and councilmember Kitty Moore, Los Altos Councilmember Lynette Lee Eng, and San Jose Councilmember Bian Doan’s representative Kiet Vu. Their presence added a touch of distinction to this momentous occasion. On that day, the solemn bell ringing ceremony was held, guiding everyone to reflect in prayer, conveying good wishes to the local residents, and offering prayers for global peace and the welfare of humanity.

In a poignant moment, distinguished guests gathered to participate in a 60-second prayer for global peace and well-being. They also extended their blessings to the Santa Clara Academy, imparting a sense of unity and positivity to the occasion.

Dr. Hong, Tao-Tze delivered a warm welcome speech, expressing gratitude to all the esteemed guests in attendance. “Today, we decided to set up two new academies, one in Santa Clara, the technological capital of Northern California, and the other in Pasadena, the cultural capital of Southern California, respectively, reflecting the perfect integration of technology and spirituality, which are the two key ingredients for physical and mental balance in today's world.”

The angel of love sang "Children from Heaven" with a pure heart, calling on the world to find their own hearts and create a world of conscience.

Mayor Gillmor of Santa Clara made a “wish for religious freedom, social justice, human rights and most of all health and peace for our community. Spreading love and kindness throughout Santa Clara and the world!” Mayor Wei of Cupertino wishes “all people in the world to have shelter, food, love, family, and friends. Wish the world is filled with laughter, friendship, and peaceful enjoyment.”

The Fire Phoenix Dance, performed by the female apprentices of Tai Ji Men, serves as a symbol of happiness and carries with it a profound message of stability in today's chaotic world.

Several distinguished guests expressed their blessings. Nobel Peace Prize laureate Abdessattar Ben Moussa believes that the academies are notable for their potential to bring about positive transformations in people’s lives. The Mayor of Santa Clara remarked, "This city is the hub of the world's high-tech entrepreneurs, and now we have a center of peace, love, happiness, and kindness. Tai Ji Men will remind us of what needs to be done and how humanity should live." Former Prime Minister of Lesotho, Pakalitha Bethuel Mosisili, extended his greetings to Dr. Hong, saying, "Let us congratulate the defenders of peace, charity, and conscience."

The event continued throughout the day, filling the tranquil Santa Clara with laughter and positive energy. The guests were treated to martial arts performances and cultural performances, which added a refreshing artistic touch. Exhibits in the academy include a cultural corridor infused with technological creativity, and an immersive experiential zone which allowed guests to feel as if they were traveling alongside the Tai Ji Men goodwill cultural group, visiting over 300 cities in more than 100 countries across six continents. Distinguished guests also expressed their gratitude, acknowledging Tai Ji Men's contributions to promoting world peace, community harmony, and public health.

Four public wisdom seminars were thoughtfully organized, each offering valuable insights into various aspects of modern-day health and well-being. Ophthalmologist, Chienyi Yang , shed light on eye health; dietitian Lianne Huang, provided insights into dietary choices; Chinese traditional medicine practitioner, Yu-Yang Chiang, shared knowledge on traditional Chinese medicine; and psychologist Angela Lu, delved into the nuances of mental health.

These experts addressed the ailments and challenges of contemporary life and offered guidance on achieving a harmonious balance between physical, mental, and spiritual health. This wealth of knowledge was particularly beneficial to the tech-savvy individuals of Silicon Valley.

Tai Ji Men is a lineage of ancient menpai (similar to school) of qigong, martial arts and self cultivation. The culture of Tai Ji Men is rooted in the Tao tradition, passed down through generations, and enriched by a deep well of wisdom. Its mission is to carry forward the Tai Ji Men culture and promote the physical, mental, and spiritual well-being of people. It is an international nonprofit cultural organization. In response to the ever-changing world, more and more individuals seek to find balance in their physical, mental, and spiritual lives.

Dr. Hong, Tao-Tze, the grandmaster (leader), established academies in Walnut and Cupertino, California in 2000 and 2001, respectively. On October 8, 2023, coinciding with the inauguration of the Santa Clara Academy located at 5155 Stevens Creek Blvd., Santa Clara, another milestone awaits as the Pasadena Academy, nestled at 570 E. Orange Grove Blvd., Pasadena, proudly opens its doors on October 14th. These academies stand as beacons of wisdom and practice, offering a transformative path towards holistic well-being and equilibrium for individuals navigating the ever-changing landscape of our world.
