Love of the World, A Declaration of Peace
In 1999, Colombia, Turkey, and Taiwan were all struck by massive earthquakes, demonstrating the formidable power of nature. On September 25, Dr. Hong, Tao-Tze organized “Love of the World, A Gathering for World Peace,” where leaders of various religions and nearly forty thousand people came together to pray for the world. Dr. Hong announced “Love of the World, A Declaration of Peace,” urging kindness towards all beings on Earth through the expression of love. The declaration aimed to awaken people to respect life, protect nature, love oneself and others, and love one’s own country as well as others’ countries. On that day, the song “Love of the World” was presented for the first time.

The Peace Declaration
In 2001, the World Citizens Assembly (WCA) jointly declared the “Peace Declaration,” witnessed by over 600 representatives from 67 countries. In 2004, Dr. Hong presented a CD containing two million signatures to Joan Levy, Chair of NGO/DPI Executive Committee, and Joan Kirby, Chair of the 57th Annual UN DPI/NGO Conference, which was later submitted to UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan.

Dr. Hong, Tao-Tze, the executive director of the assembly, pointed out that the heart is the most crucial element in creating a culture of peace for the 21st century. Through international cultural exchanges, people from various countries can appreciate the truth, goodness, and beauty in their own cultures, thereby understanding the differences between different countries and ethnic groups, respecting each other, learning from each other, reducing global conflicts, and creating a culture of peace for the century, added Dr. Hong.

The Peace Declaration was signed by representatives from five continents, and subsequently endorsed by over 320,000 individuals globally. During the same year, it was presented to Mr. Kofi Annan, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, by Dr. Elaine Valdov, chair of the Executive Committee of NGOs Affiliated with the UN/DPI, 1996-2000, conveying the blueprint for peace from the global citizens of the new century.

The Declaration of Human Rights for World Citizens
In 2002, Dr. Hong, Tao-Tze recognized that peace stems from the harmony between humans and nature, while human rights arise from mutual respect among individuals. Driven by love, and to consolidate the "spiritual" strength of humanity through cultural exchanges, Dr. Hong led various organizations to promote declarations on love and peace, aiming to enable world citizens to share freedom, secure human rights, and practice peace.

The ECOSOC-accredited NGO Association of World Citizens, the Federation of World Peace and Love, and Tai Ji Men Qigong Academy invited individuals from all sectors to co-sign the “Love of the World, A Declaration of Peace,” the “Peace Declaration,” and the “Declaration of Human Rights for World Citizens,” extending blessings of love and peace. During the 57th United Nations DPI/NGO Conference held in New York from September 8 to 10, 2004, Dr. Hong, Tao-Tze, presented a CD containing the support of two million people from 158 countries for the initiative known as “Love of the World, A Wish for Peace.” Dr. Hong presented the disk to Joan Levy, Chair of NGO/DPI Executive Committee, and Joan Kirby, Chair of the 57th Annual UN DPI/NGO Conference, which was later submitted to UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan, expressing global citizens’ desires for love, peace, and respect for human rights.
