To promote joint assistance to Haiti, which is mired in complex humanitarian, political, security and economic turmoil, the WCM organized a special session on reconciliation and reconstruction in Haiti.

The conference was attended by many distinguished guests, including Leonard Lucas, Chief Apostle of the Light City Church and former Louisiana State Representative; Alberta McCrory, Mayor of Hobson, Alabama and President of the Historic Black Towns and Settlement Alliance; Bishop Lubin Moise, founder of Mount Sinai Worship Center in Brooklyn, New York; Dr. John Armand, Director Haitian Reconciliation Program; and other leaders.

Kenya Collins, on behalf of the mayor of the City of New Orleans, said that Mayor Ford’s hosting the World Conference in the city of New Orleans is extremely significant, “especially to see partners globally all over come together to share each other's ideas of what's going on in their cities and countries.” She thinks that it’s extremely important for leaders to come together for a conference to help one another, collaborate, and combat issues in their respective communities.

Dr. Hong, Tao-Tze has led members of FOWPAL and Tai Ji Men to visit 101 countries to promote love and peace through cultural exchanges. Delegates of the two organizations were invited to participate in the World Conference of Mayors, bringing beautiful dances, songs, magnificent martial arts and opera performances to enliven the event.

During the international press conference in the morning, the Cultural Goodwill Group opened the event with the song "The Angel in Your Heart.” Their heartfelt singing touched the hearts of the attendees, encouraging everyone to listen to their inner voices and discover the angel of love and happiness in their hearts, and spreading positive energy to the world. A group of female Tai Ji Men members dressed up as the divine peacocks, a legendary bird that "consumes all kinds of poison and releases fragrance," to bring goodness and happiness to the world, and the VIPs enthusiastically took group photos with the beautiful “peacocks.”

In light of the fact that Haiti is currently mired in a complex humanitarian, political, security and economic crisis, which has caused much suffering among its people, and in order to promote the joint efforts of all countries to help Haiti, the World Conference of Mayors has organized a special conference on reconciliation and reconstruction in Haiti to discuss ways to salvage Haiti from its crisis. Dr. Hong, Tao-Tze, president of FOWPAL, was invited to deliver a speech.

Dr. Hong emphasized that conscience is the key to effective implementation to protect, preserve and promote cities. He encouraged those in power to govern with conscience and for the well-being of their people, adding, “If leaders in all sectors can act in accordance with their conscience, our human, land and material resources will be fully utilized, resulting in a seamless flow of goods. This way, all industries and trades will thrive, allowing people to fulfill their needs and be well protected, and thus they can live and work in peace and contentment. When cultures are well preserved, they can carry forward the wisdom of previous generations and create new opportunities for future ones. Naturally, this will contribute to the sustainable development of our cities, countries, and even the world.”

To wish for the success of the conference, Dr. Hong, Tao-Tze guided his disciples to sing for the first time the "Song of Conscience for Global Mayors," a jazz-inspired song with lyrics specially composed for the World Conference of Mayors.

The song reminded mayors in all parts of the world to listen to the voices and needs of their people, to put the people first, and to love them infinitely, so that all people, regardless of race or creed, can enjoy freedom and human rights. All mayors are encouraged to be leaders of conscience, a beacon of light to guide their people, to lead with passion and strength, to lead with courage, to inspire and uplift their cities to new heights. The lyrics are touching and full of inspiration and hope. The beautiful and upbeat singing touched the hearts of the audience members, and the VIPs stood up to give a standing ovation to pay tribute to the performers.

Through the song, the Cultural Goodwill Group wished the conference a great success and hoped that mayors from all over the world would unite and cooperate to create peace and prosperity in the world.
