FOWPAL Mini Golden Bell Delivers the Most Needed Positive Energy to Many Heads of States

The Doomsday Clock now stands at 90 seconds to midnight. The Bulletin of Atomic Scientists cited ‘unprecedented danger’ amid the war between Ukraine and Russia. Turkey, the country close to Russia and Ukraine, is now recognized by its geographical position. The 26th Eurasian Economic Summit was held in Istanbul 13 to 15 March 2023. In this three-day meeting, representatives from a total of 44 countries attended, including Heads of States, Ministers, Mayors, and leaders from important civil organizations. Dr. Akkan Suver, the President of Marmara Foundation and the organizer of the Summit, invited Dr. Hong to deliver a speech in the meeting. Dr. Hong, the Zheng-men-ren of Tai Ji Men and President of Federation of World Peace and Love (FOWPAL), led the delegation of 60 members to bring the 240 kg Bell of World Peace and Love to the Summit.

This year is the 100th anniversary of the Turkish Republic. The ceremony of ringing the Bell of World Peace and Love was organized in the summit to pray for the earthquake-hit Turkey and Syria. A total of 19 VIP representatives rang the Bell of World Peace and Love, including 6 significant figures: H.E. Ersim Tatar, President of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, H.E. Marinko Čavara, former President of Bosnia and Herzegovina, H.E. Mladen Ivanić, former President of Bosnia and Herzegovina, H.E. Bamir Topi, former President of Republic Albania, H.E. Ivo Josipović, former President of Croatia, H.E. Gjorge Ivanov, former President of Republic of North Macedonia, H.E. Saad Dine Elotmani, former Prime Minister of the kingdom of Morocco, and H.E. Senida Mesi, former Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Albania.

There were another 6 Bell ringers attending the Summit, including H.E. Emil Constantinescu, former President of Romania, H.E. Fatmir Sejdiu, former President of Kosovo, H.E. Petru Lucinschi, former President of Moldova, H.E. Moncef Marzouki, former President of Tunisia, H.E. Filip Vujanović, former President of Montenegro, H.E. Stjepan Mesic, former President of Croatia, and H.M. Werner Fasslabend, former Minister of Defence Austria and President Australian Institute for European and Security Policy (AIES). All of them have been working with FOWPAL to promote love, peace, conscience, and human rights.

It is a sincere and solemn ceremony for ringing the Bell of World Peace and Love. All the Bell ringers were awarded with a Bell Ringing Certificate, a Heart Key and the book The Journey to International Day of Conscience. The Heart Key symbolizes conscience as the key to a brighter future for the world. The book The Journey to International Day of Conscience documented the key process that Dr. Hong worked with many UN embassies to establish 5 April as International Day of Conscience. Dr Hong also presented the FOWPAL Mini Golden Bell to 8 Bell ringers, including 6 former and incumbent Presidents of 6 nations: Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Montenegro, Romania, Moldova, Tunisia and Croatia.

H.E. Ersin Tatar, President of Turkish Republic of North Cyprus, was honored for his efforts and contributions to promoting peaceful dialogue, regional peace works and area cooperation. The President is committed to the well-being of the people and has made a significant contribution to the pursuit of sustainable peace by engaging in a continuous and substantive dialogue with all relevant groups and by always addressing regional issues with problem solving orientation.

Mr. Turan Hançerli, Mayor of Avcılar, Istanbul, was praised for his efforts and dedication to enhancing the well-being of the residents of Avcılar and the disabled. His unwavering commitment to inclusion, accessibility and social justice is a source of inspiration for all those who strive to make this world a fairer and more compassionate place.

Dr. Akkan Suver, Chairman of the Marmara Group Foundation, was commended for his tireless efforts and contributions to promoting peace and multicultural exchange, and for establishing the Eurasian Economic Summit to promote regional relations and cooperation. Akkan Suver is a renowned civic leader whose efforts for peace work and multicultural dialogue have been recognized with a number of medals and honors of the highest order. Since its inception in 1998, the Eurasian Economic Summit has attracted an increasing number of heads of states and NGO leaders to work together for the economic development and welfare of the region.

H.E. Filip Vujanović, former President of Montenegro, earned the honor for his tireless efforts and contributions to promote independence and democratization, as well as for his achievements in promoting regional friendship and cooperation. He advocated a peaceful and friendly division of the family and the maintenance of friendly relations after independence. In the international arena, Filip Vujanović has steered the country firmly towards European integration and membership in the NTAO Partnership for Peace, and has been actively involved in regional initiatives to strengthen relations and cooperation with other countries.

H.E. Emil Constantinescu, former President of Romania, was in recognition of his high moral character and great contribution to peace, harmony, stability and sustainable development in the world. His commitment to the reform of the administration system and his role in Romania's accession to the European Union earned him many awards for his commitment and efforts during his presidency. After leaving office, he returned to the University of Bucharest as a professor of geology. He is still heavily involved in political activities through his work with many non-governmental organizations in Romania and internationally.

H.E. Petru Lucinschi, former president of Moldova, received the award for his outstanding contributions to the development of democracy and human rights in Moldova, and for promoting international cooperation between the country and the world. He played a key role in the development of democracy in Moldova. He worked to promote legal and judicial reform in the country and to establish peaceful relations at the international level to ensure stability, security and harmony for the people of Moldova.

H.E. Moncef Marzouki, former Tunisian President, was recognized for his contributions to world peace through his advocacy of democracy, rule of law and human rights. In 2014, his presidency led the establishment of the Truth and Dignity Commission of Tunisia, which was key to national reconciliation. The Commission investigated serious human rights violations committed by the Tunisian government since 1955 and provided reparations and rehabilitation to victims.

H.E. Stjepan Mesic, former Croatian President, won the prize for his outstanding contributions to the democratic transformation of Croatia and its accession to the European Union and NATO. During his presidency, he was a strong advocate for democratic reform and the promotion of the rule of law and human rights in Croatia. Under his leadership, Croatia has made great strides in economic development, education, and social welfare. In addition, his commitment to regional cooperation has led to the successful mediation of border disputes between Croatia and Slovenia, as well as between Bosnia and Herzegovina. His strong commitment to building a just, equitable, pluralistic, tolerant and respectful society has earned him admiration and respect at home and abroad.

With Turkey and Syria having just experienced a century of powerful earthquakes, the World Love Goodwill Cultural Group also brought a cultural feast spanning a thousand years, soothing the heart with a joyful and positive energy full of auspiciousness. At the opening ceremony, Tai Ji Men dizi sang a pure and lilting chant, spreading a peaceful atmosphere to cleanse the hearts of the people. Eight angels of love waved their wings and prayed for the world, wishing peace of mind to the living and the dead, and encouraging the world to hold on to good beliefs and see hope. Along the way, they promoted the “Declaration of International Day of Conscience” and the “Declaration of World Blessing Day” and other declarations, which received enthusiastic reactions.
