Tai Ji Men Qigong Academy in LA Observes the Third International Day of Conscience

Visionary leaders honor the Conscience Day and urge everyone to act with conscience

On April 10, 2022, Tai Ji Men Qigong Academy in LA, in cooperation with FOWPAL and the Dr. Hong Tao-Tze Culture and Education Foundation, organized a virtual event to inspire global citizens to do good deeds and create a brighter future for all.

April 5, 2022 marked the third International Day of Conscience. In the face of the pandemic, war, and natural and man-made disasters that threaten humanity’s survival, it is more important than ever to awaken the conscience of global citizens. Dr. Hong, Tao-Tze, the zhang-men-ren (leader) of Tai Ji Men has designated April as the month of conscience and has led a number of organizations around the world to organize a series of activities to commemorate the International Day of Conscience starting April 1. On April 10, Tai Ji Men Qigong Academy in Los Angeles, in cooperation with the Federation of World Peace and Love and the Dr. Hong Tao-Tze Culture and Education Foundation, hosted a virtual event, where leaders from all walks of life were invited to share their insights on the promotion of a culture of conscience to inspire global citizens to do good deeds and create a brighter future for humanity.

Dr. Hong, Tao-Tze, zhang-men-ren (leader) of Tai Ji Men, delivered welcome remarks, emphasizing, “The focus of the International Day of Conscience is to inspire everyone’s exercise of conscience.”

The organizers have received congratulatory messages and kind wishes from visionary leaders from around the world, such as UN Secretary-General António Guterres; the presidents, prime ministers, and UN ambassadors of various nations, as well as leaders in Southern California and educators in the U.S., including Mabel Segura Fernandez, consul general of Costa Rica in Los Angeles; California Governor Gavin Newsom; U.S. Representative Young Kim; U.S. Representative Norma J. Torres; California State Senator Connie M. Leyva; California State Senator Josh Newman; California Assemblymember Phillip Chen; California Assemblymember Freddie Rodriguez; California Assemblymember Blanca E. The focus of the International Day of Conscience is to inspire everyone’s exercise of conscience.” “Time is the fairest of all, so let's make good use of our limited time on Earth to do good deeds and accumulate blessings and virtues for ourselves and the world while cooperating with one another to help ourselves and the world. Let us apply our conscience to transform ourselves in our limited time on this planet, to face all kinds of crises and challenges with compassion, courage, and wisdom, to share love, peace, and human dignity, to enhance everyone’s well-being, and to create a peaceful and bright future for all,” he added.

California State Senator Josh Newman talked about his role as a California State Senator and emphasized, “I've learned that in addition to continually researching and weighing the facts, the best path is to let my conscience be my guide."

Several leaders also shared their views on the International Day of Conscience and commended Tai Ji Men for its promotion of health, positivity, and peace. ​California State Senator Josh Newman stated, "In my role as a California State Senator I am asked every day to make decisions that may impact the lives of 40 million Californians. Particularly in challenging times like these, this can be a daunting prospect, and I've learned that in addition to continually researching and weighing the facts, the best path is to let my conscience be my guide."

California Assemblymember Blanca E. Rubio expressed her appreciation to Tai Ji Men for observing the third International Day of Conscience, noting, “The services you provide continue to preserve peace in our neighborhoods and promote cultural heritage among our residents. For years, the academy has encouraged residents to prioritize their physical and mental health through qigong. This practice is very important, especially during these unprecedented times. Qigong continues to bring positive energy among families, workplaces, and communities across the region. The academy's efforts are very instrumental to well-being of our constituents.”

Furey stated, "Our physical and mental health has been challenged for more than two years now, and it's organizations like yours (Tai Ji Men) that promote spreading positive energy and kindness that show our love for humanity is more important now than ever." "It took a great deal of good conscience to put others first above our own needs," he continued to say, stressing, "I encourage you all to continue to make a positive impact on your community not just today, but in your daily lives."

San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools Ted Alejandre stated, "Today is dedicated to celebrating the importance of the human conscience and how each of us can let our conscience guide our actions to create a more peaceful and united world.”

San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools Ted Alejandre stated, "As county superintendent, one of my main focuses is promoting equality in education." He talked about a student advisory panel program in his county and said, "My conscience tells me that it is vital to listen to the students we serve and include them in discussions about topics that will affect their education and their futures. We've had students on past panels ignite change by sharing their ideas with elected officials. Some of these ideas have even been enacted as policy in different agencies and school districts."

Additionally, many citizens of the world also shared their words of conscience in support of the event. The organizers shared a film titled “Bloom,” which depicts the adventures of several tiger cubs and the inspiring story of how their actions of conscience lead to the spreading of magical seeds, which eventually grow into giant trees that benefit others and themselves.

"With a simple click of your phone or mouse, you can do good!” The organizers have been promoting declarations of conscience and peace for many years, encouraging citizens around the world to endorse the "Declarations for Human Rights of World Citizens and Peace" (http://www.taijimen.org/lecture/english/sign_eng.php), the "Declaration of International Day of Conscience," and the "Declaration for the Movement of An Era of Conscience" (http://www.aneoc.org/en/endorse-2in1). These declarations aim to consolidate good intentions from global citizens to change the world for the better!

The event concluded with an uplifting song titled “A Prayer for Peace.” Tai Ji Men hopes that everyone will follow the guidance of their conscience and work together to stop the war and suffering, as well as create a brighter and more peaceful future for all!
