OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Dačić calls for peace throughout holiday season in eastern Ukraine
OSCE Chairperson-in-Office and Serbia’s Foreign Minister Ivica Dačić called on 25 December on all sides in eastern Ukraine to keep ensuring lasting peace throughout holiday season.
On December 22, the sides agreed, in a meeting with the Trilateral Contact Group, chaired by the Special Representative of the Chairperson-in-Office Martin Sajdik, to limit their troop and tank movements along the line of contact and to strictly uphold a ceasefire starting from midnight that night through the holidays and hopefully beyond.
“All the sides must honour the ceasefire and refrain from violence, in the name of all the families who just wish some peace and harmony during the holiday season,” said Dačić. “I appeal to all, with all of my heart, to work together for this peace, to think of the children and their joy, and men and women who simply need some safety and security for all.”
“I wish a happy holiday season to all. Let peace prevail,” said Dačić.
