UK's plans for a paper-free health service at the point of care
UK local digital roadmaps: CCGs to submit plans for local health services to become paper-free at the point of care by 2020.
UK has published detailed guidance to support clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) to prepare plans – called local digital roadmaps - on how their local health and care areas will achieve the ambition of being paper-free at the point of care by 2020.
As a first step CCGs are required to provide a ‘footprint’ of their local digital roadmap. This footprint explains whether a local roadmap covers a single CCG area, or multiple CCG areas.
Every CCG is required to complete and return a footprint and governance form by 30 October 2015 - see guidance and forms .
Individual CCGs will decide whether or not to join together with neighbouring CCGs to develop a single roadmap.
