Second Student in Washington State School Shooting Dies
The death toll from last week's shooting spree at a high school in the northwestern U.S. state of Washington has risen to two.
Hospital officials say 14-year old Gia Soriano died late Sunday night, two days after she and four other students were gunned down in the cafeteria at Marysville-Pilchuck High School, located about 55 kilometers north of Seattle. Another female student was killed during the shooting.
The other three victims, two boys and a girl, remain hospitalized. One of the boys and the girl are said to be in critical condition.
The gunman, who witnesses have identified as student Jaylen Fryberg, shot and killed himself. News outlets say he is a member of a prominent family in the local Native American tribe, the Tulalip. The two wounded boys are said to be his cousins.
The shooting is still under investigation.
