More Pakistan flood money contributed by US and EU
US aid package reached millions, while EU promised to send US$90 million
More flood aid has been promised to Pakistan by the US and EU.
Millions of dollars of fresh aid money is due to arrive in Pakistan soon, with international donors, the US and EU, pledging increased assistance to the flood-hit country.
The US is due to announce an aid package of multi-millions of dollars, while the EU has already said it will send US$90 million.
Several other countries have also announced major donations.
In the past days, Saudi Arabia, Australia and Japan have come up with US$60 million between them.
Half of Pakistan's $460 million aid target, set by the UN, has now been accumulated, allowing aid operations to be continued in stricken regions.
There has been better news on the weather after three weeks of torrential rains devastated wide swathes of land in Pakistan.
The weather service has said monsoon rains will ease over coming days.
