New York Air Guard unit to be renamed to reflect current mission

The 174th Fighter Wing will become the 174th Attack Wing Sept. 9, reflecting the change of mission from flying fighter aircraft to operating the MQ-9, which the wing has done since December 2009.

Texas Army Guard retires Army's last A-model AH-64 Apache helicopter
Army Capt. Stacy James Rostorfer, commander of B Company, 1st Battalion, 149th Aviation Regiment, points to areas that incurred ballistics damage on the underside of aircraft 451, the last A-model AH-64 Apache helicopter to be retired from Army service. The unit was the last to fly the A-model Apache and recently held a ceremony marking the retirement of the A-model aircraft. Aircraft 451 will be disassembled and then refurbished into the D-model AH-64 Apache Longbow.
