Sierra Leone stops transmission of Ebola virus

The World Health Organization declares on 7 November that Ebola virus transmission has been stopped in Sierra Leone. Forty-two days, that is two Ebola virus incubation cycles, have now passed since the last person confirmed to have Ebola virus disease had a second negative blood test.

World Bank funded project targets extremely poor and Ebola-affected households

The World Bank Board of Executive Directors approved a new US$10 million International Development Association (IDA) credit on November 6 for the Government of Liberia to improve access to income generation opportunities for targeted youth. This financing will also provide support for strengthening the government’s capacity to implement its cash transfer program.
