Spain: Reject Flawed Public Security Bill
The Spanish Senate should scrap a flawed draft law on public security that would undermine rights protections, Human Rights Watch said on 9 March. The bill, approved by the lower house of Parliament, includes provisions that infringe on the rights to freedom of expression and peaceful assembly, unjustifiably penalize vulnerable groups, and violate international norms on asylum. The Senate is expected to vote on the bill on March 10, 2015.
