The World Bank Group launched a new open data tool that provides in-depth, comparative, and easily accessible data on education policies around the world.

Two of　national affiliates　of Education International （EI） in the UK, the National Union of Teachers (NUT) and the National Association of Schoolmasters Union of Women Teachers (NASUWT), have reacted to speeches by Tristram Hunt, UK Shadow Education Secretary. They reiterated their support for a Qualified Teacher Status and a continuing professional development (CPD).

“Promoting individuals. How does it work?” This was the motto for the recent German Teachers’ Day, which saw over 1,000 teachers gathering in Dortmund. The day – a nationwide training day for teachers at all levels - was organised by EI affiliate Verband Bildung und Erziehung (VBE). As in previous years, the training day focused on inclusive schools.

The Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) held its 51st National Delegates’ Conference in Accra, Ghana, on 5-10 January. Delegates discussed and adopted a five-year strategic plan to further improve the standing of the teaching profession in the country.
