NVIDIA's AI Breakthrough: Robot Precisely Recreates Kobe's Fadeaway Jump Shot
Chip giant NVIDIA and Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) have jointly developed a groundbreaking artificial intelligence (AI) learning technology that has stunned the world by perfectly replicating NBA star Kobe Bryant’s signature fadeaway jump shot!
According to foreign media reports, the robot underwent a two-stage training process that combined a simulated environment with real-world physical differences, significantly narrowing the gap between humanoid robots and actual athletic movements. With this new technology, motion errors can be reduced by approximately 53%, allowing robots to perform more complex full-body movements.
Moreover, humanoid robots trained with this new technology can not only accurately replicate Kobe’s fadeaway jump shot but also mimic the signature celebration moves of sports icons such as Portuguese football star Cristiano Ronaldo and Lakers star LeBron James. These robots can also jump sideways and forward over a meter, execute high-difficulty movements such as deep squats and leg stretches, and even dance to the recent viral song “APT.” with impressively smooth motions.
Although the robots may still appear somewhat clumsy due to hardware limitations and the number of joints, their agility has significantly improved compared to previous humanoid robots.
