Blue Origin's Maiden Orbital Flight: New Glenn Rocket Launch Delayed
Jeff Bezos, founder of Amazon, and his company Blue Origin had planned to launch their large orbital rocket, "New Glenn," in the early hours of January 13 local time. However, the highly anticipated maiden orbital flight was postponed due to an unspecified technical issue.
According to foreign media reports, the mission of the "New Glenn" rocket was to transport a Blue Origin test satellite into orbit and then land the reusable portion of the rocket on an unmanned ship in the Pacific Ocean. However, during the countdown at the launch control console, an issue was discovered in the rocket's subsystem, leading to the mission being abruptly halted.
Blue Origin executives stated that the delay was due to a subsystem malfunction. As for when the launch will be rescheduled, Blue Origin has yet to decide on a new launch date.
