Traffic accident kills 16 Kyrgyz nationals in Kazakhstan
Sixteen Kyrgyz nationals were killed and several others injured in a traffic accident in Kazakhstan in the early hours of Tuesday, the country's ministry of emergency said.
The accident took place when a medium bus suddenly lost control and collided head-on with a truck on a highway in central Kazakhstan.
Fifteen people on the medium bus, which was overloaded with one driver and 17 passengers, were killed on the spot, while another died on the way to the hospital. he injured truck driver and two passengers from the bus were sent to a local hospital for treatment, the ministry said.
Local police has confirmed that all the decedents are Kyrgyz nationals. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
