Judge killed in ambush in Philippines
A trial court judge was killed in an ambush Tuesday night in central Philippine province of Negros Occidental, police said on Wednesday.
The victim was identified as Judge Henry Arles of Regional Trial Court in Kabankalan, a city of the Negros Occidental Province, Philippine National Police spokesman Agrimero Cruz Jr. said.
Initial investigation by the police revealed that the victim, while driving his car going to south direction, was shot by a group of unidentified suspects on a tricycle in the vicinity of Manalad village, Ilog town of the province.
Arles was brought to a hospital but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.
Cruz said investigation has been ongoing to determine the possible motive of the killing and for the apprehension of the suspects.
