October 13, 2022 coincides with the sixth anniversary of the death of King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand. This diligent and caring king has many wonderful deeds that will be remembered. Bhumibol Adulyadej (1927.12.05-2016.10.13), the ninth king of the Zakri Dynasty in Thailand, is the longest reigning monarch in the history of Thailand. During his reign for more than 70 years, he has experienced a total of 30 prime ministers; He is also the second longest-serving head of state in world history, after Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom. He passed away on October 13, 2016, and the whole country mourned. For the Thai people, it was like the loss of a loving father. Dr. Hong Tao Tze, the head of Tai Ji Men and the president of the Federation of World Peace and Love (FOWPAL), praised His Majesty Bhumibol: Love the people like a son, put the people first, be modest and honest, and be a model of the leader of the world. Representatives of Tai Ji Men went to the Thailand Trade and Economic Office to pay their respects, and to commemorate the achievements and legends of the King of Thailand with a "prayer" to express their adoration and condolences.

In 2001, the annual Assembly of UN NGO Association of World Citizens was held in Taipei. The representative of Thailand attended and presented a colourful jade elephant to Dr Hong Tao Tze for congratulation.

Dr. Hong, Tao Tze has exchanged ideas of love and peace with the heads of state for a long time, and has exchanged dozens of letters with His Excellency Bhumibol over the years. In 2001, Dr. Hong was authorized to organize the United Nations NGO World Citizens Assembly (WCA 2001) for the first time in Taipei. More than 600 representatives from 67 countries attended the conference. Thailand also sent representatives to attend, and presented a colorful jade elephant that symbolizes the spirit of Thailand - honor , nobility and bravery - for congratulations. The WCA 2001 conference is listed by UNESCO as one of the most important annual events in the world. Dr. Hong, Tao Tze, the executive director of the conference, pointed out: "The soul is the most important element in creating a culture of peace in the 21st century. Through cultural exchanges, we recognize the truth, goodness and beauty in our own culture, and to understand the differences between different countries and different races, respect each other, learn from each other, reduce conflicts, and create a new ‘heart’ century of peace and culture!” The resolution of the WCA 2001 conference was made "Declaration of Peace", and launched a global joint campaign of endorsements. During the 57th United Nations Public Information Sector NGO Annual Conference in 2004, Dr. Hong, Tao Tze asked Ms. Kirby, the then chairman of the conference, and Ms. Li Wei, the then chairman of the executive committee, to submit a CD named “Love of the World, a Wish for Peace” that compiled the results of the global joint endorsements of “Declaration of Peace" to Secretary-General Kofi Annan of the United Nations to express the common aspiration of two million citizens of the world to pursue love and peace.

In 2004, Mr. Junnapong Saranak, the representative of the Office of the Tourism Authority of Thailand and His Excellency King Bhumibol, presented the "Thai Emperor Stamp." This special set of golden stamps showcases the King's royal rituals from his birth, upbringing, monkhood and accession to the throne, as well as his record of diligence and love for his people. The King valued the Tai Ji Men 6,000-year culture and both sides established firm friendship. Since 2008, Dr. Hong, Tao Tze and the King of Thailand have had correspondence in succession, and share ideas and deeds that promote love and peace. In 2014, Dr. Hong, Tao Tze launched the movement of “An Era of Conscience” and specially invited King Bhumibol to participate in the global launching ceremony of An Era of Conscience on February 16, 2014. Although the King was not able to attend the ceremony, he sent over his blessings. In 2016, Tai Ji Men celebrated its 50th anniversary and invited King Bhumibol to attend. A reply was received on July 11. This is the last correspondence. In October, the news of the death of King Bhumibol of Thailand was shocking, and the whole world mourned.

Since 2006, King Bhumibol's health gradually deteriorated, and he lived in Sri Raj Hospital for a long time. Bhumibol is deeply respected by the Thai people. It is the kind and omnipotent "father" of Thai people, and is even regarded by many Thais as a symbol of the compassionate "God".

King Bhumibol Adulyadej's name means "power of the land - unparalleled power" in Thai. On May 5, 1950, Bhumibol was crowned king at the Grand Palace in Bangkok, swearing that he would "rule justly for the interests and happiness of the Thai people". The diligent and patriotic Bhumibol has traveled to all corners of Thailand. He invented a set of artificial rainfall system named "super sandwich", which solves the problem of farmers' water irrigation, and has obtained a patent.

Bhumibol has contributed to mediating political disputes. During his reign, there were 19 coups in Thailand. He has repeatedly coordinated at critical junctures to save lives and help the Thai people avoid catastrophe. The Black May Incident in 1992 is a classic event that affected the political situation and society of Thailand. In May 1992, when the Thai people protested against the military rule, Prime Minister Suchinda ordered a military crackdown, resulting in the death of a large number of students. The situation became worse the Thailand was on the verge of inner war. Bhumibol summoned Suchinda and the petitioning student leaders into the palace, and warned both sides to exercise restraint through television. In this incident, Bhumibol played a key role in promoting Thailand's transition from military rule to a democratic government.

King Bhumibol’s peaceful contribution to resolving disputes with wisdom is worthy of learning and reflection by global leaders. At present, natural and man-made disasters continue to occur around the world, regional wars continue to arise, and food crises and climate disasters are becoming more and more serious. Human beings must realize that the survival crisis is critical, and all of us must unite and cooperate with conscience to fulfill our responsibilities, working together to solve the challenges of sustainable development. Up to now, the global endorsement activities of six major declarations including the "Peace Declaration" and the "Declaration for the Movement of An Era of Conscience" are on-going. The "Declaration of Human Rights for World Citizens" has been co-signed by more than 3.73 million people in 200 countries; " Declaration for the Movement of An Era of Conscience and Declaration of International Day of Conscience” has been signed by more than 340,000 people from 200 countries. FOWPAL calls on the world to share kind heart and kind thoughts, respond to the endorsement, and benefit the world. We hope to reach the peaceful state of "everyone has a conscience, the world is peaceful; everyone has happiness, and every family is happy"!
