American pastor says he never inflicted violence on daughter
Creflo Dollar, the head of an American megachurch, has denied domestic violence claims.
Speaking on Sunday from the pulpit of his church, Creflo Dollar vehemently denied charges that were laid on Friday.
Speaking about his arrest on charges of family violence, child cruelty and battery, Creflo Dollar said the accusations had been a total exaggeration.
He said the charges smacked of "sensationalism."
It has been alleged Creflo Dollar choked and punched his 15 year old daughter during a domestic argument.
According to police, the only evidence is some scratching around the girl's neck and corroboration of the story by another family member.
Creflo Dollar is pastor to the World Changers Church International, which has around
30,000 members and a wide television audience.
During the pastor's address to the congregation on Sunday there was sympathetic applause.
Dollar is on $5,000 bail.
