Malaysia's recent outbreak of neoguana is on the rise again, with a significant increase in the number of confirmed cases. According to Malaysia's COVID-19 notification for the period of 10-16 October, the number of confirmed cases was 2696, an increase of more than 60% compared to the previous week.
In a press conference, Health Minister Dzulkefly Ahmad said he had re-launched the anti-epidemic policy, adopting preventive and control measures such as notification and quarantine to minimize the risk of infection as well as the spread of the epidemic.
At the same time, the latest outbreak data was released and a number of measures were put in place to cope with the development of the outbreak, including early detection of mutated strains of the virus and TRIIS (Test, Report, Isolate, Inform, Seek Medical Attention) procedures.
