OECD annual inflation stable at 2.1% in June 2014
Consumer prices in the OECD area rose by 2.1% in the year to June 2014, the same inflation rate as in the year to May 2014. Excluding food and energy, the OECD annual inflation rate was also broadly stable at 1.9% in June.
The broad stability in overall inflation however masks diverging patterns across countries, driven in part by different movements in energy and food prices, which rose in the OECD area as a whole (by 3.1% and 2.1% respectively in June) but fell in most EU OECD countries..
