Obama: 'Much More' Can Be Done for Middle Class
U.S. President Barack Obama says business leaders worldwide, for the first time in over a decade, have declared America, instead of China, as the best place to invest.
The U.S. leader said in his weekly address Saturday the recovery is due to Americans' resilience, resolve and hard work.
Obama said 10 million jobs have been created in the past 52 months, but there is "much more" that can be done for the middle class and those working to join the middle class, including raising the minimum wage, fighting for fair pay and paid family leave, and passing "commonsense" immigration reform.
He said there is nothing more important to him than making sure the U.S. remains the place where everyone who works hard can live a successful life.
In the Republican address, Representative Steve Scalise of the southern state of Louisiana says Obama should encourage Senate Democrats to pass House-approved bills to put Americans back to work.
