US state of North Dakota growing stronger
The Bureau of Economic Analysis in the United States has determined that North Dakota is the fastest growing state.
In North Dakota natural resource mining has contributed mostly to its strong GDP growth.
In 2011 the US economy grew for the 2nd straight year with the real GDP of 11 states growing by at least 2%.
North Dakota showed economic strength throughout the recession as did Utah, Texas and Alaska, with their strong energy economies.
North Dakota's GDP growth was 7.6%, there was a population increase of 1.38% and an increase in employment of 4.8%.
