With 193 heads of state, ministers, and approximately 80,000 delegates from all over the world, the 2012 United Nations Summit on Sustainable Development (UNCSD) in Rio, commonly known as Rio+20, returned 20 years later. Ban Ki-moon, the UN Secretary-General, urged world leaders to have the fortitude to confront the urgency of sustainable development, as nature will not wait and will not compromise with mankind.

Tai Ji Men Grandmaster and 80 disciples hosted several events , including "The Bell of Peace" ringing rituals, cultural exchanges, and a summit on love and peace for sustainable development at the conference. One of the disciples mentioned, her master not only created a way for his disciples to change for the better, he also hoped people in the world have a chance to change. The quickest approach is to influence a country's leaders so that the citizens of that country might have hope for change. Dr. Hong, Tao-Tze asked the presidents during the bell ringing ceremony, “ Do you wish to make a statement to your people at this critical time?” President Laura Chinchilla of Costa Rica rang the bell and expressed the following wish: "May there be peace among mankind as well as between mankind and the nature”. Costa Rica was the first country in the world to abolish its army in accordance with its constitution.

People were touched that Taijimen disciples travelled all over the world on their own time and expenses to promote love and peace and spread positive energy. Another Tai Ji Men disciple, Ming-Je Liu, said,” Such potentials and kindness cane from the power of belief. Our master has said ‘the heart creative thought’, so heart is the foundation of all energy.
