Out of control wildfires sweep New Mexico
The US state of New Mexico has now been overtaken in some parts by huge wildfires.
The fires are out of control in the southwestern state mountain region, where large areas of forest lands are in danger of being destroyed.
Already six states have been subjected to the fires.
While New Mexico is currently seeing the worst of the fires, there are also out-of-control blazes in Arizona, Colorado, Michigan, Nevada, New Mexico and Utah.
Dry weather conditions and strong winds over the weekend have been fuelling the flames.
Firefighters and support crews have been sent to affected towns to help evacuate residents.
It is believed the fires were started by lightning ten days ago when summer heat had put many states at high risk of wildfires.
