A forest fire broke out in north China's Hebei province Friday, with 1,800 firefighters and 2,000 local residents attempting to extinguish the blaze, local authorities said Sunday.
The fire began in the village of Yinzhuangzi in the city of Zhangjiakou. While the north and west sides of the fire have been controlled, firefighters are still working to extinguish the east side of the blaze.
More firefighting equipment has been sent to the site of the blaze, a local official said.
