Former Deputy Insurance Commissioner Convicted of Racketeering in Operation Blighted Officials
United States Attorney Donald J. Cazayoux, Jr. announced that another public official has been convicted in Operation Blighted Officials. Richard L. Chambers, Sr., age 67, of LaPlace, Louisiana, pled guilty today before Chief U.S. District Judge Brian A. Jackson to using an interstate facility in aid of racketeering, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 1952, and forfeiture, pursuant to Title 18, United States Code, Section 982.

Alabama Businessman, Lobbyist and Legislator Sentenced to Prison for Roles in Wide-Ranging Conspiracy to Influence and Corrupt Activities of Alabama State Legislature
Three individuals, including Alabama businessman Ronald Gilley, lobbyist Jarrod Massey and former Alabama state representative Terry Spicer were sentenced to prison today in Montgomery, Ala., for bribery-related offenses, announced Assistant Attorney General Lanny A.
