Career Criminal from Tohajiilee to Serve 40 Years in Federal Prison for Convictions Arising from June 2011 Crime Spree
Jerome Yazzie, 37, an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation who resides in Tohajiilee, New Mexico, was sentenced this morning to 480 months in prison, followed by five years of supervised release, for his convictions on aggravated burglary, robbery, kidnapping, and firearms charges. Yazzie’s sentence was announced by U.S. Attorney Kenneth J. Gonzales; Carol K.O. Lee, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI’s Albuquerque Division; and John Billison, Director of the Navajo Nation Division of Public Safety.

New Jersey Return Preparer Pleads Guilty to Corruptly Endeavoring to Obstruct the IRS and Preparing False Tax Return
Eric Majette, 52, a tax return preparer and owner and operator of the Berrisford Group, located in Somerville, N.J., pleaded guilty Tuesday to corruptly endeavoring to obstruct and impede the Internal Revenue laws and to preparing a false tax return, the Justice Department and Internal Revenue Service (IRS) announced.

Former Federal Fugitive Pleads Guilty in California to Massive Fraud and Identity Theft Scheme in Connection with Nationwide Foreclosure Scam

Charges were unsealed on last Friday against four former executives of BizJet International Sales and Support Inc., the U.S.-based subsidiary of Lufthansa Technik AG, which provides aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services, for their alleged participation in a scheme to pay bribes to government officials in Latin America, announced Acting Assistant Attorney General Mythili Raman of the Justice Department’s Criminal Division and Assistant Director in Charge Valerie Parlave of the FBI’s Washington Field Office.

Zhao is charged via a criminal complaint for knowingly engaging in economic espionage benefiting a foreign government, foreign instrumentality, or foreign agent, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 1831 (a) (1)(2)(3).

Former Stock Broker Pleads Guilty in Manhattan Federal Court to Insider Trading Charges
Preet Bharara, the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, announced that Thomas C. Conradt, a former stock broker at a securities trading firm (“Securities Trading Firm-1”), pled guilty today in Manhattan federal court to charges arising from his involvement in an insider trading scheme. The alleged scheme involved the misappropriation of material, non-public information (“inside information”) concerning IBM’s acquisition of a software company, SPSS Inc., in 2009. Conradt was charged in November 2012 and pled guilty today before U.S. District Judge Andrew L. Carter, Jr.
