IMF Staff Concludes Review Mission to Ghana
A team from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), led by Joël Toujas-Bernaté, visited Accra from April 27-May 11, 2016, to conduct discussions on the third review of Ghana’s financial and economic program supported by the IMF’s Extended Credit Facility (ECF). The discussions focused on the implementation of the program, the medium-term outlook, and policies and structural reforms needed to restore debt sustainability, and a return to high growth and job creation, while protecting the poor.

San Marino’s economy remains in transition following the implosion of its offshore banking model in the aftermath of the global crisis. These shocks resulted in the loss of a third of output since 2008. Nonperforming loans increased to very high levels.

World Bank and Government of Tajikistan Launch Training Program to Promote Private Sector Development
Tuesday, the Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Investments and State Property Management, Nigina Anvari, and World Bank Country Manager in Tajikistan Patricia Veevers-Carter launched a training program on private sector development that targets mid-level government officials. The training is part of the World Bank Group financed Central Asia Youth Empowerment and Jobs Project, which aims to improve the business climate and foster youth entrepreneurship in Tajikistan through capacity building of state entities and skills training for youth.
