Minister for Children and Youth Affairs, Frances Fitzgerald TD, welcomes Dublin Declaration on the unique contribution of youth work in supporting attainment of 'soft' skiills which are increasingly south after by employers. The Declaration was agreed following a two day EU Presidency expert roundtable host by Minister Fitzgerald in Dublin.

High Level International Conference in Santo Domingo to offer input to Government’s early childhood development plan

Myanmar: Children affected by Rakhine conflict miss a year of school
Inter-communal violence in Myanmar’s Rakhine state in June and October 2012 displaced an estimated 140,000 people. Many fled to temporary camps where they have been living without adequate shelter or sanitation facilities. Continued tensions between communities means that these families are still reluctant to return home.
