Study estimates number of U.S. women living with metastatic breast cancer
A new study shows that the number of women in the United States living with distant metastatic breast cancer (MBC), the most severe form of the disease, is growing. This is likely due to the aging of the U.S. population and improvements in treatment. Researchers came to this finding by estimating the number of U.S. women living with MBC, or breast cancer that has spread to distant sites in the body, including women who were initially diagnosed with metastatic disease, and those who developed MBC after an initial diagnosis at an earlier stage.

Study finds tens of millions of Americans drink alcohol at dangerously high levels
Nearly 32 million adults in the United States (13 percent of the U.S. population aged 18 and older) consumed more than twice the number of drinks considered binge drinking on at least one occasion, according to a 2013 survey that asked about past-year drinking. This higher level of drinking is associated with increased health and safety risks. A report of the findings is online in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine.

DRC: Response to The Ebola Virus Disease Outbreak in Bas-Uele
From 17 to 18 May 2017, Dr Oly Ilunga Kalenga, Minister of Public Health, and Dr Allarangar Yokouidé, WHO Representative in the DRC, will carry out a first visit to assess the Ebola outbreak that has been reported in Nambwa, epicentre of the disease, in the Likati health district, Bas-Uélé Province, located over 1400 km from Kinshasa, to the north of the DRC.
