Egyptian President Sisi: Support Palestine until the establishment of the state.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi recently stated that Egypt will continue to support the State of Palestine until its establishment, and will continue to air-drop aid to the Gaza Strip.
On February 28, the Egyptian 'Al Ahram' reported that President Sisi emphasized during a public event that Egypt has never closed the Rafah checkpoint between Egypt and Gaza, and we have always maintained the original intention of providing humanitarian aid to our brethren in Gaza. Sisi said, 'I hope that a ceasefire agreement can be reached for the Gaza Strip soon, and we will support Palestine until they establish an independent Palestine state that is 'demilitarized' and has East Jerusalem as its capital based on the borders divided in 1967.'
Sisi added that under the condition of demilitarization, international organizations (NATO, the United Nations, the U.S. military or Arab armies) will be used to ensure the national security of Palestine and Israel. Regarding the position of allowing Palestinians to migrate from the Gaza Strip, Sisi reiterated: 'We will not allow Palestinians to be displaced from the Gaza Strip.' Sisi also emphasized the importance of continuing to provide humanitarian aid, and instructed the Egyptian military to carry out the third air-drop of aid materials to the Gaza Strip on March 2.
