13 Dead in Indian Pipeline Blast
Officials in southern India say a state-owned gas pipeline has exploded, killing 13 people.
Authorities say the blast hit a pipeline of the Gas Authority of India Limited in the state of Andhra Pradesh.
The Friday morning explosion sparked a fire that destroyed homes in the surrounding villages.
The cause of the blast was not immediately known.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said his thoughts are with the families of those who lost their lives in the explosion. Writing on Twitter, Modi said he has spoken to the petroleum minister and other officials and asked them to "ensure immediate relief at the accident site."
