King of Jordan discusses Syrian refugees during visit to Parliament
King Abdullah II of Jordan spoke about how the Syrian crisis and the resulting refugees had affected his country during an official visit to the European Parliament on 5 December. The sovereign also discussed other challenges facing the Middle East when he addressed the Conference of President, which consists of EP president Martin Schulz and the leaders of the political groups.

Following the meeting, the king and president Schulz held a press conference. King Abdullah II was also due to meet the EU’s foreign representative Catherine Ashton, European Commission president José Manual Barroso and Council president Herman Van Rompuy during his visit to Brussels.
This is already the King of Jordan’s fourth visit to the Parliament, which is more than any other foreign dignitary. The last time he paid an official visit was on 18 April 2012.
