EU: Engaging beyond its borders
The EU is the world's biggest market and the greatest competitor for the US and China, but that's not all though. It also defends human rights and promotes democracy and good governance beyond its borders. With aid programmes and humanitarian action, Europe also reaches those who need its help the most.
The EU also has an important role to play beyond its borders
As a union of more than 500 million people, the EU always seeks to promote its core values around the world. International trade, human rights, crisis aid, close relations with neighbours, promoting good governance and democracy – these are just a few examples of how we as Europeans engage with the world.
How can the EU wield more influence abroad? Specialists will present and debate their ideas during the second ReAct conference, that takes place in Warsaw on 14 November.
