Afghan Security Forces Kill Insurgents After Kabul Airport Attack
Afghan officials say security forces have killed a group of seven insurgents who attacked Kabul's main airport.
The attack began before dawn with explosions and gunfire focused on the military side of the facility.
Insurgents then occupied a nearby building under construction and fired toward the airport, which serves as a base for coalition forces.
After several hours of gunbattles with security forces, officials said all seven of the insurgents had been killed.
There were no immediate reports of civilian or security force casualties.
The Taliban has claimed responsibility for the attack.
