German startup Isar Aerospace successfully launched its Spectrum rocket from the Andøya Spaceport in Norway on the 5th local time, carrying five small satellites and technology experiments into orbit for the first time and setting a new milestone in the history of European commercial spaceflight. Although Europe still faces a significant gap in reusable technology and launch costs, the rise of domestic launch sites as strategic assets signals that Europe has fully embarked on a space arms race, determined to break its dependence on foreign providers and build a truly independent aerospace security shield.
