Apple’s highly anticipated annual Worldwide Developers Conference, WWDC26, is scheduled to take place from June 8 to June 12 Eastern Time. This year’s conference carries special historical significance, as hardware engineering chief John Ternus has reportedly been confirmed to succeed CEO Tim Cook in September, making this potentially Cook’s farewell appearance before stepping down.

The event will officially begin with the keynote presentation at 1:00 p.m. ET on June 8. Apple fans can watch the livestream through the company’s official website and YouTube channel. The biggest highlight this year is expected to be the major leap forward in “Apple Intelligence.” Industry observers predict that the revamped Siri 2.0 will integrate a multimodal large language model, enabling it to understand on-screen content with advanced contextual awareness. There is even speculation that Apple may collaborate with Google to incorporate Gemini technology, deeply integrating it into next-generation operating systems such as iOS 27.

Later, at 4:00 p.m. ET, the Platforms State of the Union session will provide software engineers around the world with an in-depth look at Apple’s latest development frameworks and APIs. Throughout the five-day event, Apple will release hundreds of technical guidance videos and host online labs. The company has also revealed that 50 outstanding winners of the student challenge competition have been invited to Apple headquarters to exchange ideas and participate in learning activities. In addition, 36 finalist apps and projects for the prestigious Apple Design Awards have already been announced. With the slogan “Out of the Box,” this year’s conference is expected to usher in a fresh wave of innovation across the tech industry.
