Spacecraft Arrives at ISS, Two Stranded Astronauts to Return to Earth on the 18th
NASA announced that two American astronauts, Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams, who have been stranded on the International Space Station (ISS) for over nine months, will return to Earth on the evening of the 18th local time. Also returning to Earth on this mission are American astronaut Nick Hague and Russian cosmonaut Aleksandr Gorbunov.
The Crew-10 mission was launched on the evening of the 14th local time in the United States. After approximately 29 hours of flight, the Crew Dragon spacecraft successfully docked with the ISS at 4:04 GMT on the 17th. The seven crew members already aboard the ISS welcomed the Crew-10 astronauts with hugs.
Wilmore and Williams arrived at the ISS in June 2023 aboard Boeing's Starliner spacecraft. However, due to propulsion system issues that occurred during the flight, they have been unable to leave the ISS since last June.
In a statement, NASA indicated that the astronauts' splashdown off the coast of Florida has been moved up from the 19th local time to 5:57 PM on the 18th (5:57 AM Taipei time on the 19th).
