Successfully completing its first satellite launch, Europe now possesses commercial flight capability
Europe's next-generation heavy-lift rocket, the Ariane 6, successfully delivered a French military satellite into orbit on the 6th, completing its first commercial flight mission.
According to foreign media reports, the launch of the Ariane 6 rocket had been delayed several times. This mission took off at around 1:30 PM local time from the Kourou Spaceport in French Guiana. The commercial flight mission was to transport the French military satellite "CSO-3" into an orbit 800 kilometers above the Earth. During the launch process, the French authorities deployed multiple fighter jets and airborne early warning aircraft as escorts. Approximately one hour after launch, the "CSO-3" satellite successfully entered orbit, completing the mission.
Although Europe still lags far behind the U.S. and Russia in commercial rocket launch capabilities, the successful mission of the Ariane 6 signifies that Europe now possesses the capability to independently transport large satellites into orbit.
