OECD annual inflation slows to 2.3% in December 2017
Annual inflation in the OECD area slowed to 2.3% in December 2017, compared with 2.4% in November 2017. This slight decrease in the annual rate of inflation was driven by energy prices which grew at a slower pace in December (6.2%), than in the year to November (7.8%). Food price inflation increased to 2.2%, up from 2.0% in November. Excluding food and energy, inflation increased slightly to 1.9%, compared with 1.8% in November.
